Side chick death

We had an incubator chick hatch last night at 2 am. I ended up taking her from momma chicken 2 days ago (not thinking any would hatch) so she could keep up with her other 8 babies (this one was a week after the first few), she was doing fine and I heard her chirping at 6:30am. I checked on her at 7:15 and she was dead. My husband had taken her out of the incubator and put her in the brooder with water (I know she could have stayed in the incubator. My husband doesn’t know what he’s doing). I picked her up and rubbed her with a towel (kinda like 101 Dalmatians) and all her little feathers fell off anywhere I touched. Did she get overheated? Was she already sick? Any thoughts? She was our little surprise chick.

She was prob already sick and you just rubbed her fragile body too hard, hence the feathers
