Er, am I the only one in the kingdom who fails to see the logic in this??

On a side note, I think the kingdom would make a great Broadway musical. Just a thought I had while in the shower this morning.

Eenie, eenie, if anyone would know, you should - this isn't the place to be looking for logic!

But I agree about the musical. A while back, I suggested "The Queen and I," - though I guess the goings-on are a bit more Stephen Sondheim than Rodgers and Hammerstein, aren't they?

Yes, I can see Sondheim coming up with this group.

We have our R&H moments, but they're few and far between.
I'm thinking we need at least one full cast number at the beginning with the kingdom citizens swearing loyalty to the Queen, a quartet of Sparklies bemoaning their soon-to-be watery graves, Tani and I can do a duet in the dungeon, (great acoustics, ya know) Bluesub singing a lullaby to the denizens, a la Jack and Milky White... Ah, the list goes on and on.

"Send in the Clowns".

(On the matter of acoustics - when I was in college, the chorus went Christmas caroling every year. We strolled through the dorms while singing [moving targets are harder to hit, you know]. One time, we were singing "Angels We Have Heard On High" as we were going from one floor to the next. Those cascading "gloria's" echoing in the stairwell? AWESOME!")

I think some numbers would have to be "patter songs" - I understand some of our number may be "melodically challenged".

Could go a little bit Andrew Lloyd Webber too . . .

Our theater group met in an old school this summer, and right before the performances we met in the basement for vocal warmups. It was basically a long cement hall- everything was cement except the doors, and it was SO FREAKING COOL. Granted, all we were singing was "Row Row Your Boat" in a round, but anything sounds cool when it echoes.

Maybe something Holy Musical Batman-esque, too?

lady queried, logic?

Yes, a tragi-comedy of sorts ever ongoing. Picture the costumes - switching from Victorian elegance to Disneyesque with just a touch of Avatar.. Frankly, I think that Hugh Jackman would be ideal for the part of 'Sourland'.

It would sure be the best that I ever looked and sang.
