*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

Those of us in the South have a little trouble when it comes to Christmas trees. If you don't mind the floppy, saggy branches, Eastern Red Cedar works (I can't stand a droopy tree, so it doesn't work for me). Most of the types that have stiff branches and short needles can't take the heat, so they don't grow here. The best compromise most can come up with are somewhat fuzzy trees like the Sand Pine and Virginia Pine. But hey - fuzzy is good!

Norfolk are an Irish pine ( I'm pretty sure )

The Norfolk Island in the name is between Australia and New Zealand, so the lack of cold-tolerance is understandable (I understand they aren't really pines, either. Go figure)/
