Many a cedar tree I harvested up on the Sourland Mts and drug home to be decorated with popcorn/cranberry strands and strands of little paper loops glued together.

Yep, the branches are super floppy, you have to be super careful with hanging ornaments.


The spruce trees we have up here have stronger branches, easier to decorate. They have lots of tiny killer needles though.

You know a hemlock ( The coniferous tree type of hemlock ) would be a great Christmas tree there bushy and strong and the needles are soft...

Spruce is the only right one. Preferably onesided, and a big tortured looking. And sparse, of course. So no one will think you paid for it

I don't pay for them.... I just go and cut 'em down.
