I completely understand the flag issue. My friend convinced (actually begged) me to join the dancerette squad after volleyball season ended in high school. It didn't take long for the coach to realize that Taz can't keep a beat to save her life.

So I was assigned flag duty. I was supposed to twirl and spin and march around with this waving monstrosity. The first day, I managed to whack myself in the knee, hit my head, and then (the final straw) as I was spinning this flag......I broke a nail!

It hurt. I did not handle it with grace. I uttered a forbidden word or two and decided to join the journalism team instead.

I commend you for hanging in there and flying your flag while marching a whole mile.
