But I'm also annoyed...the grand-champion chicken
in the fair, next county over sold for $1,500.00. (our
fair does not sell the chickens)

Do you know how many chickens I would sell you for
$1500.?

Even the rabbits sold in the $1500 range.

$1500 for one chicken?!! Shoot, I'd sell you several horses for $1500 (don't tell the horses that - they think they're priceless!)

There ain't no way on this green earth that I'd pay even $150 for a rabbit - not knowing rabbits as well as I do. I'm thinking somebody was supporting some kind of fund raising thing if they were paying amounts like that for chickens and rabbits - "support your local 4-H program," that sort of thing.
