"Old friends are the best treasures."
Glad to see your name pop up and at the same time,
a sad post to read. My heart goes out to you tonight.
Sort of a "been there, done that". I can't imagine losing
my wife (well, ...sometimes...but that's another story)
Healing takes a long time. If I ever get over losing dad,
I'll let you know.
On the bright side...Em done runned off and got married.
Bunny took to drinking. I know where New Concord is..
Any chance you're a good brownie-maker?
Even funnier...We all know my dad passed away. So I do
the most of mom's driving now. But that doesn't stop the
old guys from hitting on her. (Mom will turn 78 Wenesday)
The mayor of our little town came over the other day to ask
mom to dinner.
Mom isn't interested.
Now, I did sign mom up on that there dating site "Farmers
Only".... I don't want a new daddy, but I would like a old farmer
with one of those fancy air-conditioned farm tractors to come
by. 'specially 'bout plowing time. Ole Spook isn't as young as
he used to be.
*** The 'farmers only' thing isn't true. It's a running joke I made
up at church for mom and her friends. Several widow ladies in
church, and it's a running gag-line now....they've each ordered
a "man".....one lady needs a plumber, someone else needs a
roof patched....Every week or two, one of the women need a new
man.
If you know me at all, you know I WILL laugh. Just as soon as I
get done crying.
Another joke at church is the car wash ideal. Now understand,
most of the women there are elderly. But like all small churchs,
fund raisers are a part. Being me, I suggested a "bikini car-wash".
On the serious side Deb...I know there's no words I can say. It's
just one day at a time, trying to get a litlte better each day.
