*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

The moat juice is excellent.

G man swore by it, but he has disappeared .

Well, Critter's not a very happy camper tonight.

He's never really gotten over selling the 49er, and finds the Force 5 a bit boring to sail. Recently, he's been ogling catamarans, hoping that one of them will allow him to recapture some of the excitement he felt with that suicide machine with sails. He thought he had found a Hobie 17 a couple of hours from here, and stole my car today to go get it. Long story short, he didn't get it. Apparently, when this seller says, "in extremely good condition," what he means is, "no parts are completely missing, and all of the parts are still more or less attached to each other." Critter said that the boat had clearly had some pretty hard collisions, and a lot of very rough and amateurish attempts at repairs. When the guy said, "well, if you don't worry too much what it looks like," Critter had a hard time not saying, "'Looks like?' What it looks like is the whole front end of that pontoon could come right off if I hit even a small wave!" Even though he rather enjoyed doing the repairs on the Force 5, he said he just couldn't bring himself to drag this thing into the yard to have me look at it and remark, "'magic beans' might have been better . . . ."

I thought so - the man's not totally insane, after all, he married me, didn't he?

There's another boat that he's been considering, but it's at least a 5 hour drive away from here. I don't know if he could stand to drive that much in one day any more.

I understand the 'not standing to drive' bit. Last night I drove home from our daughter's. It's only an hour and a half drive, but it was raining, and snowing, and glary, and the other idiots weren't dimming their lights. I said to the Princess when we got home, "I really don't like driving anymore." She said, "Well it really was miserable tonight. I don't think anyone enjoys driving in these conditions." It's just not fun anymore regardless of the conditions. The drive to the beagle club is .4 miles. That's enough for me.

My truck is 4 years old, and it only has about 37,000 miles on it. Between work and field trials I used to average around 20,000 miles a year.

Notice that I neglected to affirm the "totally insane" comment. I'll just say the Princess married me.

Love is indeed blind.
