Only a couple of inches of wet snow here over night and then rain, but I found the best sign of spring of them all! The first egg in months!!! Woohoo! Sasha is laying again!
It's been pretty spring-ish here lately. A little cold, but we didn't really get any snow this winter and I'm not used to that at all! I've been thinking it's spring since January!
I can't wait for the warmer days so that I can go to the beach! It's ten minutes down the road!

Hey Beefy - it took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about. I'm thinking what snow drops? Then I realized, since Bayou mentioned them too (called them SnowBells), that those must be the names of the little white bell flowers that are coming up in droves. I asked my mother if she knew what they were called when she was here and she didn't. I like the name(s). I have a whole huge line of thick clumps of them coming up where the original fence must have been.
If you want some bulbs let me know and I'll send you some. They are coming up all in the horse pasture too.
i have a few clumps around the old farmhouse. last year i divided them and they are all blooming. they multiply pretty fast. they are my favorite bulb. i'm going to put them everywhere! there are also tons and tons of daffodils and jonquils but they havent bloomed much in a few years. i guess they need dividing. or maybe they are just too old to bloom anymore. who knows.
Couldn't help bumping this thread as spring is here
"HAVE UPDATED TO GO UPPER 70S TO AROUND 80 IN THESE
AREAS. STILL EXPECTING MORE CUMULUS DEVELOPMENT THIS AFTERNOON
WHICH SHOULD SLOW THE SOARING TEMPS A BIT...IF NO CLOUDS
DEVEOP...THEN MID 70S TO AROUND 80 MAY NOT EVEN BE WARM ENOUGH."
(they were right: 86°)
Found this guy (Ribbon Snake) out in the woods basking this afternoon:
Tomorrow:
"WILL ISSUE A WINTER STORM
WATCH FOR MAINLY CNTRL MO FOR MON AFTN DUE TO THE POTENTIAL OF
SIGNIFICANT SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATION AS THE TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED TO FALL DURING THE DAY ON MON BHND THE CDFNT."
(slither away, little snake!!! Slither, Slither! `Spring' is on your tail and that ain't no lamb!)
1st male red wing blackbird is back; singing in our backyard two days ago. Canada geese who actually migrated are coming back, too. Big snowstorm supposedly coming tonight, but no one ever said spring is all nice sunny weather.
