Silence Is Not Golden Here

:bowThank you oh guru of plant cuttings! I mean that in the most serious sincere way possible. I want some orange raspberries some kind of bad. (Btw my child calls raspberries "hairy berries". :sick I want to stop her so bad bc it sounds so gross but I can't give her a good reason so I just let it go.... parenting fail:()

I think I'm either going to sign off for the night or just lurk. I feel like I'm irritating a handful of people. :hmm
No one's irritated :p

So is your plan to work with local wildlife? Rehab & rescue type stuff? We need more of that I think but I know a lot of folks think it's "interfering". I call it paying our dues as so many wildlife issues are caused by use in one way or another.
No, domestic exotic pets. An exotic veterinarian is technically a vet who sees animals like ferrets, rabbits, rodents, birds, reptiles, etc.. it’s confusing because there’s also wildlife veterinarians, and vets who work with zoos or on game reserves, and those who work with multiple at once.

I would absolutely love to work with local wildlife in rescue and rehab though, and wouldn’t turn away someone who brought wildlife to me. I just won’t be majoring in that. My FIL majored in wildlife management and I love learning and working with him.

You aren't. You're very nice :)

Thank you. I would say the same to you. I would hope you wouldn't lurk to avoid irritating people. After all, this is your thread we've all become so fond of. :highfive:

PS I won't be nearly this active in a couple of weeks if I'm even active at all so I'm really sorry if I'm coming on a little strong I'm just enjoying this while I've got the time!

Thank you. I want you to enjoy BYC :)

I'm making no guarantees! But it's the best method I've ever found. Now, if you want to grow a willow, that's really easy... just cut off a branch and stick it in the dirt!

I love thimbleberries. THOSE are hairy berries. But they won't grow here. Salmonberries, too... they're amazingly juicy and delicious, but they won't grow here. My honeyberry bushes are the closest I can get to the wild red huckleberry bushes I grew up snacking on.

That's so interesting to me. If I hadn't been such a slacker when I was younger that's exactly the direction I would've taken. I just played too much. Got a job at a bank and worked their for several years knowing it wasn't for me. Now at 34 I'm going into my final year of respiratory therapy. It's not nearly as exciting but my other passion is my family and it'll give me a great opportunity to work PRN hours so I'll be able to spend more time with them.
