My tiny D'Uccle cockerel was fighting my standard Leghorn hen through the wire. I found it amusing.

I’ve only had them a few months but I love them! And this roo has earned his place today for sure. I decided to pick friendly Roos to keep as breeders. I’m hoping it will pass genetically so I can have tame birds, and a roo that treats his hens well is always a bonus!

I had 5 New Hampshire roosters (sent as packing peanuts) that we butchered around 3-4 months of age. At that point, they were absolute terrors to the ladies: next time I will get them before their hormones kick in.

I don’t want to be flagged for anything inappropriate; know that this next remark really comes from a scientific observation..... anyhow, their testicles were Freaking Huge!!!

Seriously, one testical was almost the size of the birds head.... One... And they have two.

They have two elongated golfballs placed right next to their spine, pumping raging hormones through them.

Now I understand why they are the way they are. The good kind ones are special because that body ratio is just crazy.

Speaking of using roos as packing peanuts, when I ordered Light Sussex from two UK lines they mistakenly used $400 IxWorth chickens as peanuts

Oh, and then I failed it again when I was backing around a corner (which, btw, who the hell ever needs to back around a corner so tightly?) perfectly, I might add, but I did not notice the car I was backing towards. When the instructor asked me if I had seen it, I foolishly told the truth. I learned a lesson that day. Just lie.
