Silent male?

So I have a male quail I know he’s male because I have vent sexed and he is exhibiting mating behaviors. Do some quail just never crow? I would think he would start before trying to mate right? Or do they start mating before crowing sometimes? The rest of my males crowed before they started exhibiting mating behavior.

Happy males don't crow much. Disposition matters too. You may get one that crows no matter what and you may get one that just doesn't crow.

Ok thanks then my males are happy lol. They don’t crow unless they can’t see their girls but this one just doesn’t crow at all now I know that’s normal I’m fine thank you for the help.
