I have some very sweet cockerels who need their own flocks. 2 silkied sizzles, splash and I guess what you'd call blue/silver partridge. One smooth feathered sizzle who I guess is porcelain.

I don't have good pix right now because they've been put in their places by my rooster and have pin feathers all over their li'l hayeds.

These guys. Pic from a few months ago when they had all their head feathers!

I would soo love to have one of your silkie sizzled roos. My only sizzle/silkie roo was killed by a hawk and I can't find an other within a 4 Hr drive. And none of them have the pea combs as yours do! I want one like you have. But I've never gotten a chicken by mail. How do they handle the transport? How much are you asking?

I've never shipped a bird, so I have no idea. Sorry. :-( I'd be hesitant to do so also because these guys are well-loved. I'd imagine it would be traumatic! If you'd be interested in trying eggs, I could do that, but we're having high temps of about 20 degrees this week, so maybe once it warms up a bit.

Sounds good! I have done it that way. I'm hatching chicks now since my roo was killed, and I can't find another. Would you consider mailing some eggs now? I really need a roo old enough to guard the flock as soon as possible. And of course the eggs and chicks would in the house till the temps got warm enough anyway.
