Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

Have you ever tried bananas, pumpkin or squash? They love it here. We have a huge garden and half of it is planted for the chickens so they get plenty of fresh veggies in the summer. But I am like you.. the prices right now are so high on produce even on sale! I would try some canned pumpkin...I know it is wonderful for cats with stomach/bowel problems. My cats love it. I also buy whole wheat bread at our bread outlet. It has a good date and this time of year you can keep it in a container cause it is cold and preserves it well. I get 100 lbs. for $6. My chickens flock around me and little ones jump up on my arm to get the bread treat. It is almost like a scene out of the "Birds" movie!!! I also make cornbread with a lot of egg in it for them.
I haven't tried banana with her, she didn't really go for the squash, I can try canned pumpkin. I buy 12 grain bread for myself and give them some but she's not really into that either. She is such a princess

Yeah the one coming up in MA. And hopefully many more! My last/first show was very disappointing...
She is a gorgeous bird, but before you show her, make sure those primary wing feathers are folding UNDER the secondary feathers. That twist you are seeing in the primaries is suspicious. This does not look like a split wing, but a slipped one . I hope I am wrong just from looking at the photos. The way to test is to gently throw her forward into the air a few feet off the ground, and see what she does with her wings when she lands.

I do, sometimes they fold normal and sometimes she folds them wrong. I just took a video, i'll upload it once it's done downloading to youtube and you can tell me what you all think about it.

Keep an eye on her wings.
I hope it plays for everyone, I can't get it to play for me on here.

It could just be me, but I see a bit of a twist in the wing. How old is your little cutie?
4 months. My hen had the same look to her wings when she was young, but she grew out of it. I am hoping Ice does too. She doesn't have very strong wings and neither did Nori my hen when her wings were like this (they are noticeably stronger now), so i'm hoping if I can make her use them they may get stronger and correct themselves?

Here's my hen at about the same age

and her wing's now
