Well I have to admit I was worried about them as well. they can't figure out how to use the ramp to go up to the coop! We've tried putting them up the ramp every night but they can't seem to figure it out. Yes he was born with it. He's had several surgeries, but doing very well. He actually is getting an echo tomorrow to check his stent. He absolutely loves these chickens. I think it's going to be great for him. I just hope I got good enough quality. These little suckers have been hard to find!!

I was worried about mine too =) We also had the bad thunderstorms last night, but they all made it. Fortunately, they are not silkies... haha! Then my boyfriend would have come in to a house full of chickens! He just had to come in to one lol

Your son will love them. I went to a show last Sunday and watched a bit of the showmanship. That looked like fun for the kids. Would your son be interested in doing something like that?

Got some pictures of Snow, Ice, and their brood

. Had an accidental free range haha they snuck out on me! But I let them have their fun and easily herded them back in after.

This is Braxton and his roo, Peck. He was calling him Peck-er but I quickly changed it! He's only 6.

They all need a bath and the blue is molting but here they are. Dorothy(splash) Blanch(white) and Rose(blue).

From what I gather the showmanship is for kids a little older. I think it would be neat for him to do so I hope he shows an interest.

I saw a 4 year old showing in showmanship. I don't know if there's an age limit? How old is your son?

He's 6. I can't remember what website I was on, but they considered juniors 8 and up for showmanship. I'll definitely check into it more!
