Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

Thank you so much! Im thinking I probably won't get them tested before the show, but I hope to attend anyway for the experience!
Are you Amy Jo Piel? A bit of a long shot and a little random, I ask because I purchased a couple of pairs at the Waverly swap and I have had a handful of people ask me if I got them from that name? I hadn't, but now I hope to find her!

I wanted to clarify im afraid I won't get them tested in time for the show so I may end up just attending as a guest

I am Amy Jo Piehl.... If you click on my profile it will take you to a link to my website and pics of my breeder birds or you can find me on Facebook too. I've been raising this breed since 2000 and have been the MN state rep for the American Silkie Bantam Club since 2009. I raise bearded blacks, whites, buff, and partridge. I also raise bantam salmon faverolles, bantam polish in 2 varieties, exhibition muscovies, standard cochins, peafowl, a few ornamental pheasants, 2 breeds of pigeons, and too many house birds too. Raise so many birds that the state made me get that dang hatchery permit and NPIP status about 5 years ago too.

Gorgeous birds! I just got my first black so once I'm done playing with her I might have to head your way for a pair!

I'm so mad I could spit. I was trimming toes today and I noticed my 6 month old black pullet, the one I intended on showing, has a hind toe that crosses forward that I hadn't noticed before I purchased her. This same pullet is missing a nail on the other foot, which I had noticed upon inspection, but considered it to be one of little to no flaws. So all in all very undesirable feet. I was so excited about this girl, as she is the typiest little thing, really exceptional for 6 months... :(
Alas, last year it was the ban and this year terrible feet, my program is off to a pretty terrible start, I'm never going to make it to a show.

I just bought 10 little silkie partridge chicks from Amy two weeks ago. They are doing great and I just love them. I can't wait until they feather out and I can see their colors. Thanks again, Amy, you are the best!

Hey everyone! It's been a while since i posted pictures of these guys so i thought I'd take some new ones. I think last time, they both had a serious case of fermented feed hair lol. The one on the right is definitely a cockerel. He started crowing a week or two ago.

But what about the one on the left? The following are all pictures of that one. Girl or boy? Any guesses? I haven't heard any crowing out of this one yet.

Other than his feet lacking feathers, he looks pretty decent. If you breed him to hens that have more feathered legs\feet, that will be easily corrected. Good luck :)
