Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

I agree with previous imput. Do check her tail for straightness. It looks crooked in this photo but it may be the way she is standing. To check her make sure her feet are side by side.
It would be good to check the pullet's back and tail for straightness. Also, check to see if the hips are even. If not, it may lead to scoliosis and/or roachback.

She kept walking off from me so it could have cause it to appear crooked. Will get her back out tomorrow and check to see, I still have to get my black hen cleaned up. Her chicks are around 5 weeks old now...do you think it will be fine to take them from her and put in the brooder?

Yeah, That is fine. Nori was 5 weeks old when I bought her from the breeder.

Can someone explain what the porcelain coloring in silkies is? Is it a new color?
Here's a picture, Jacqui. "Porcelain" is a project color that many people are working with. The name has not been settle on. Some options are "blue-cream" "self-cream" "opal", etc. Here is a great representation from Catdance.

Definitely an adorable boy or girl! :D

Well, I took some picture of my girl who has very flaky, dry skin and I have been applying some vaginal cream but it actually look even worse to me. It seems to be too strong for her. Sorry. she looks terrible with oily and creamy stuff all over her. Anyway what else could i do? Should I stop the cream and try vaseline instead? It doesn't seem to be contagious at all so that is a good thing, but I really need to fix her though.
