Silkie Chicken head feather issues

All 3 of my Silkies used to have beautiful, feathery poms on their heads, now they look dirty and clumped together (see image). Their enclosure is often muddy as I live in Portland and it rains a lot; could this be why? Or does this look like something more serious, like mites?

Possible chance of lice/mites. Just to be safe, treat your silkies for those lice/mites. Watch out for bullying too. But, from the photo, it just looks to me like they are just wet, and a bit dirty. Use a mite and lice spray for the chooks, and use it (maybe powder too) around the coop.

Check and treat for lice, but more likely to be dusbathing mud!
