Silkie chicks with swollen weepy eyes

The other group shows is a hen, 2 black copper maran chicks, 3 moscovey ducklings, and the 2 chicks I got from the feed store.

I put the silkies in with the mama hen overnight about a week ago, but the mama pecked at them in the morning so I took them out. The mama/BCMs/ducks show no signs of illness.

The farm hatched all but the two that I got from the feed store (no symptoms).

Here's another question:
I bought 3 laying hens from a different local farm last year, and as soon as I brought them in, my cockerel got sick, followed by my pullet. They both recovered. Can I assume that the whole flock are carriers of that illness?
And now it's possible that these new silkie chicks have brought in something else. Do I need to start over?

I am so discouraged. I never thought that backyard chickens would be so complicated. I've spent a ton of money on this chicken venture, but I'm kind of tempted to give up altogether.

this is why a lot of people switch to ducks.

Ok. I've resigned myself. :(
How do I do it quickly and humanely?

Heavy duty pair of scissors.

I say "bismillah" and it's over before you know it.

Make sure you hold the wings, otherwise it'll make a big mess.

If you bury them, make sure it's very deep and away from your animals.
If you can burn them that would be better.
