When speaking about culling, it doesn't necessarily mean "kill". It just means to rehome or sell or remove from the breeding flock. Often the word "cull" is used in place of "kill" though.

I was just thinking what a shame it'd be to have an incubator full of eggs, and after awaiting thier arrival as chicks that'd be a waste to just 'kill' the chicks after a day or so when the traits someone wasn't looking for were present in the chick's looks.... I've read alot of people here say 'rehome' so I assumed cull's meaning was meant as kill. I Totally agree if an animal is used for meat it's being used for something so that's good & not a waste. But as a chick if it's unwanted I just though maybe it could be used by someone instead of just killing it. Can you tell I'm new?
