This little one hatched to a first-time Silkie mom about 2 hours ago. I heard a commotion and an EE hen was pecking in the nest and eating the egg. I’m afraid the hen pulled on the egg and umbilical cord and has caused a hernia. What can I do?? First time allowing our chickens to hatch their eggs. Please help us.

Welcome to BYC! Sorry about your chick. Where do you have it right now? In an incubator? I'd clean off the stringy stuff, put it in a cup lined with paper towels, and put it in an incubator. It should finish absorbing and he fine.
