Silkie? Hen? Cross?

Can anyone help me with this chicken? I was told she was a silkie hen but honestly looks like at least a cross to me. And is she even a she? Does she look like a roo at all with that comb? I was told she was between 1-2 years. She's the one on the far left in the pic and then there's a close up of her face. Thanks!!

All Silkie crosses are smooth feathered, so based on that and your girl's black skin I would say she is a Silkie! She just looks to me like the typical hatchery Silkie. Hatchery's tend to breed for quanity over quantity, and so the results are often far from the google search result of Silkie.

She also has 4 toes! Could she still just be a hatchery quality silkie? I guess her feathers seem a little smooth to me and her hair do is throwing me off!

If I had a picture of some of my hatchery hens, I would share it here! But they do tend to be rather ugly 4 toes, 6 toes, cross beaks, hard feathers, and incorrect combs are all common with most hatcheries.

It is possible that you have a third generation Silkie cross. Meaning her parent was a Silkie cross and the other was a normal Silkie, but my guess is still on a hatchery Silkie!

She almost looks like a cross between a silkie and an Isa brown...
