Silkie laying?

How often do silkies lay? Mine have yet to lay!! And sence I brought them home none of the others have laid ether!

Silkies are one of those breeds that it seems to be hit or miss, at least in my opinion. I bought a white hen as an adult over 6 months ago...maybe 8 months by now? Anywho, she has yet to lay an egg but is definitely NOT a rooster. On the other hand, I have a partridge girl I got at 4 months...she layed around 6 months old and actually does pretty good: this time of the year I get around 4 eggs a week from her, spring it's 5 when she's not broody, and fall/winter it is more like 2-3.

Well I mean I just got mine Thursday!! But I'm still a lil worried!! But she seemed very interested in the new nest box I built!!
