Silkie Lovers, Show Off Your Fuzzy Chickens Here?!

Pics
I'm back.

Here's a Silkie roo we had to get rid of because he became sour, & beat up my SnuggleBug, then started beating up on my Mille Fleur D'Uccle roo.View attachment 1853788 This is Sniffles. He became Silkie chicken soup. I wanted to keep him, but couldn't due to his behavior.

How'd the bug catching go?

That's true though you can't keep males that have terrible behaviour. Plus at least he was put go good use.

He's a lover not a fighter. He's so nice he feeds chicks we add too the flock. He's like a daddy to the newbies. We've been adding so many babies lately he's starting to get overwhelmed.

It's a good thing he's like that, makes I troding new chicks less of a worry.

My males like that, he's pretty caring towards newcomers and will let them get used to the area before he 'introduces' himself.

Yep. He was a very interesting tasting chicken, he tasted both gamey, and sweet. We may have too do the same to the excess roos if we can't find homes for them.

The bug catching went fine. Could've been better.

It's kind of funny to watch when they call over the chicks for something too eat. It surprised me the first time I experienced that fatherly behavior from a rooster.

This is one of the newbies. He's a Silver Duckwing OEGB X Mille Fleur D'uccle mix.

He's a perfect mix of Silver Duckwing, & Mottling. Planning to use him for breeding Silver Duckwing Mottled D'Uccles.
