I have a silike that pulled out her toe nail (claw) and is bleeding and I'm having a hard time getting it to stop. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've never had anything like this occur before so im not sure what to do. Thanks

flour...pack flour on it and KEEP pressure on it..
it can take a while for it to stop bleeding... so keep pressure on it..

I would use flour - my white showgirl did that a couple of weeks ago, looked like there had been a massacre there was so much blood when I found him. Flour got it to stop and then later he had to have a bath.

qwick stop (will stop it in seconds)

corn starch (almost equal binder) but still not a clotting agent...

flour - last resort. it's not a clotting agent but it tends to slow the bleeding enough to let a clot form.

keep her in a SMALL area so she doesn't move around and push the clot out (at least until the bleeding has entirely stopped)!

if you're handy you can cut/shape band aids & vet wrap to make a band aid for her foot food

... good luck.

This may be a silly question, but does the nail grow back? I have a roo that did the same thing, and talk about looking like a massacre in the coop......it still doesn't look like a nail is growing yet.
