Silkie rooster with chicks

I bought a silkie rooster today from a girl in my hometown. He came when 6 chicks that aren’t his but he’s been around a lot. Well he’s letting the chicks which are about 2 months old sleep under him. He’s keeping them warm. Is this normal? Or do I just have a sweet rooster?

pics? my neighbors roo incubated his own eggs and raised themit sounds crazy, but he sure is a roo.

My roosters take care of my chicks when they hatch and I see them teaching chicks how to do different things. They are both silkie roos too.

It isn't normal but isn't very uncommon. You are lucky to have such a sweet roo though,many roos are aggressive towards chicks. Have fun with your chicks!
