Oh gosh, we are dairy allergy twins, I too get all kinds of swelling from the stomach, up the esophagus and throat, the pain is horrible! And yes, the throat nearly clamps shut! My stomach feels like it's going to explode, takes days to recover. When I was younger dairy only effected my intestines but over the years my allergy to it obviously got worse. Now my body wants nothing to do with it. I was never a milk drinker but I did love yogurt and ice cream.... no more. You and I NEED to avoid Dairy!

Sounds like you were having fun on the cycle! 🏍 Do you ride in motorcycle rallies at all? We have one going in this town this weekend. I have only been on one motorcycle once in my life. I was 17 years old. A friend's boyfriend coaxed me to get on the back of his Harley and he'd give me a ride. Good grief, he went speeding down the road to what felt like 100 miles an hour. It was loud, and way too fast for me, terrified the crud right out of me and I've never been on one since!

Your babies are growing SO fast! Seems like only yesterday they hatched! SO freaking adorable! ❤❤❤ And yes, your Silkie doodles will pull anybody out of a funk for sure! One can't but help to giggle and laugh!! Love them!!

Fizz sure looks good there! Hopefully he is behaving?? Is he giving you the side eye there? Beautiful boy. How cold is it getting over night? We are starting to see 37 or 38, fall is definitely arriving! We are working on the wood pile this weekend, cutting firewood. I think we have enough for the winter now.

I was sick all the time growing up, my first job was at a cheese plant, horrible, I was there for 4 years before I figured out I was allergic to dairy, once I eliminated it from my diet, then I started getting anaphylactic reactions to it. I feel so much better since then! I felt horrible all the time, some days my throat would hurt so bad my eyes would be watering. The pain was awful, but in my throat, I can't imagine having it all the way including my stomach, wow, that must have been excruciating

I've only been riding for about 7 years, I've never been to a rally but my husband has, he's been riding since he was a little kid. He's talked about going to one together, but neither of us a crowd people so we haven't gotten around to going to one yet. We do local charity rides so that's fun. Sometimes I ride my Triumph and sometimes I ride behind him, that way I can relax and take photos and just enjoy the ride. it is no fun to be scared by someone on a motorcycle, that wasn't nice of him at all!

The chicks are 7 and a half weeks old, time has flown by! I spent a little time with them today it was so enjoyable. I need to get more photos for doodling on

The big news... I'm getting more silkies!!! Lol. The breeder has three chocolate frizzle silkies and can't keep them since the rooster is also a frizzle. I'm going to trade back two of the partridge silkies too, so I'll have two left. I don't think I have a proper colored cockerel to cross with them so the breeder is going to try for more with their rooster so slight change of plans, I'll have a paint / chocolate / satin / frizzle breeding pen. Current new plan is to put Chonkers the paint split to chocolate with the frizzle chocolate pullets. The cross should produce 50 / 50 on paint and chocolate, and of those 25% sikkie, 25% satin, 25% satin frizzle, ans 25% silkie frizzle. It should be pretty wild! I can't use JetPack since he's a frizzle too, but I might cross him with the black, blue, and splash chicks. I have a few months to figure it out!

Here are Tim and Fergie who will be going back to the breeder, they have the darker heads, not sure if that means anything genetically, but I think they are the most striking. We're keeping my hubby's favorite which is this color but satin and I'm keeping the light headed one as well. I'll miss Tim and Fergie but I think they will be great to try generating more of these colored chicks! They're so stinking cute though, hard to let them go, but I'm excited to get some eggs to hatch from them next year and see what we get!


I want to create a sign for Chonker's pen, patterned off the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory sign, it's going to be Chonker's Chocolate Factory


I can't believe how quickly it turned chilly, winter will be here before we know it. Yikes.

Yeah, he was definitely giving me the side eye, the stinker! He's been trying to bit me through the chicken wire on the tip of the one run, he'll fly up when I go in there and chew me out.

Oh, how rude, I forgot to post the chocolate frizzle pics! Not sure what day we'll swap, but should be soon. I think they are a week or two younger than mine, they have some floof growing to catch up with JetPack!

Wow, 7 1/2 weeks already?! Time sure does fly! Oooh....more Silkies!! You do sound egg-cited! I'm glad you know all about the genetics, crossing and what produces what, cause I know nothing about any of it. But it sounds like you will have fun mixing and matching, trading and swapping.... I can't wait to see what the offspring looks like! I like the sound of chocolate. I absolutely LOVE the sign idea, it will be SO freaking cute!! ❤❤

She's a pretty Easter Egger. You sure lucked out with getting her. She lays a beautiful blue egg!!

Yes! I'm very happy with her! It's such an unknown getting EEs, cheeks, beards, type of comb, all the different feather color possibilities, and egg colors. I have 6 EE's right now, 4 from Mt Healthy 2 years ago and 2 from Hoover's (TSC) this spring. My other 4 EEs are great layers, they are out producing the BAs, BRs, and RIRs I bought at the same time. They have great quality yolks and nice thick shells.

Good evening! Oh gosh, I'm sorry you had to suffer through all that dairy allergy stuff so young, and had it so bad!! Anaphylaxis is not something anyone should have to deal with, I've had my throat swell somewhat over soy and peanuts, but never so bad I've needed to go to the hospital. That must have been scary for you. I'm glad you got all that sorted out!!

Fizz Bang was on his worst behavior last night, he was just full of himself. We all made it through the chores alive though, he really is as tiresome as he is handsome!

I've squeezed a little more time with the chicks the last two nights and let them venture out into the grass. They of course loved seeing the outside world. JetPack decided to go on an adventure, he checked out our old cat Ruby, then did some posing and investigating by my truck. He's such a brave little dude!

Our young cat Smokejump couldn't decide if he wanted to jump the chicks or if watching them was enough so I had to keep an eye on him and watch for little butt wiggles meaning he was going to jump.

Tomorrow is the day! Chick swapping and bringing home the chocolate frizzles. I'm very excited! I'm going to miss Tim and Fergie, they are so beautiful, but I'm hoping they will lead to more like them. My friends know me too well I guess, one asked me today if we had anything exciting planned this weekend, I guess I said YES!!! with such exuberanc that it gave away what's up. They immediately said, you're getting more chickens aren't you?

JetPack sure is a handsome guy! ❤ Looks like he's done exploring and is ready to go cruising for chicks in the car.

Fizz is in his prime, I thought maybe if he was 5, he might be burning out his hormones and ready to calm down. As long as he doesn't get worse, maybe you can tolerate his antics? Just be careful around him.

Heavy and Nu are super adorable, I don't think I posted these yet, they are from a few days ago I was wanting to post them in the what breed am I forum and see what people say, I know they are silkies but they look more like a regular breed or a mix breed.

Wow, Nu is stunning!!!! The standard tail is pretty but Nu's shredded tail is gorgeous, he is one handsome boy!!! Base and Cappy are beautiful, they have grown into beautiful birds!! Your flock always brings a smile to my face, just gorgeous, all of them!
