silkie sexing

He should. Hope he does stay that way for you. If you need to find them a home I can add them to my flock.
He's gorgeous, isn't he!? I'm tempted to keep him for the sake of breeding, especially if I can get my hands on a silkie hen. He's not very personable, especially in comparison to my white rooster, Albedo! He stays close to me too! Though, I am not entirely sure he'll stay this way. I sure hope so!

Actually, six roos for a flock of 32 is just fine - IF all of the others are hens. That gives them a little more than 5 hens per rooster, which is right about what they recommend.

That's good to know. Between the egg producing breeds, the silkies and the cochins, I have 24 known pullets and a couple of silkies I suspect are female. That counters my 1 confirmed cochin roo, 3 suspected silkie roos and the 2 silkies whose gender I can't even guess on yet, but I'm hoping at least one's female.

I'm not sure how old they are as I forgot to ask :( I was thinking between 4 - 8 weeks? I think they're partridge colored...please tell me if I'm wrong. They're my first silkies and I'm in love with them BIG TIME!

The ones above here are of Wini Below is Fred (if it's a boy lol)

Comparison together.

Any help on sexing (guessing lol) them would be great....or any other help as well <3

The first chick looks to be silver partridge and the second one regular partridge. It's really too early to determine gender but i would guess number one is a girl and number two a boy based on size difference. Really cute!

Size doesn't matter cause my "runt" ended up being a roo. And my second biggest one ended up being a hen. But I agree they are partridge

Does this look like a roo? Also, is this a splash silkie? I was under the impression that splash silkies were bluish/gray in color with black splashes - this is white with black. Thanks.
