Silkie Tendinitis Syndrome?

Does excessive rubbing count as humping?? I'm not sure, but he doesn't attack my toes, I know that much.

Yeah, that counts. You may have a sexually frustrated silkie. I've seen this in the past.

Well, what can I do? He has the other females around him but doesn't seem interested. Maybe that's where the wine comes in??

Do you have any other roos?

Oh, and I couldn't find anything on Silkie Tendinitis Syndrome but I could on Silkie Tendinitis Disorder. Probably the same thing.

Ohhhh, maybe that was it, I get confused with all the chicken lingo. I don't think I have any other roos. Why??

I have a chicken book but it doesn't cover STD. I hope it's not something he can give to the hens..

Many young silkies, just like young people, get confused about their sexuality. Having other roos will make them compete for the hens attention. Then again if he is rubbing on you he may just not be attracted to the other hens, only you? Have you hand raised him and held him a lot? Maybe your petting and stroking has confused him.

They may already have it and be carriers. I don't think you can test for it.

Well, yeah, I did hold him a lot as a chick. He actually seemed friendlier than the others so I used to stick him down my shirt when he was little. He liked it there, it was warm. God, I hope I didn't mess him up! I thought a lot of petting and stroking was good to do... (although I'm sure I never strained his neck!)
