It looks like Elvis to me. Alice, I'm not too sure on. My one silkie roo had a huge walnut comb and was crowing by 3 months. My sultans both turned out to be boys, and the three of them would rumble- like, it looked like cock fighting to me; much more than the rowdy chest bumping the girls were doing. Fwiw. They sure are cute, though!![]()
To me they both look like girls.
I hope they're both pullets only becuase I live in the burbs and a roo will be harder to keep once he begins crowing. I really appreciate your comments!Im iffy on Elvira but Alice looks like a pullet to me... and if I HAD to guess I would say they both are but you have to consider the source.. I have two blacks that I am trying to figure out and they are older than yours!
I am going to post them![]()

I'll keep you posted and let you know how things turn out as they get older.
Quote: Thank you so much. There's been no change. It's still eating well and is bright-eyed. I'll definitely let her know about your suggestions.
He is Gorgeous!Hi all,
A few weeks ago, someone posted pictures of an adorable white pullet. I believe she said she was the only one she had so far and that she was looking for a white boy.
I have a gorgeous white cockerel that is getting too noisy for my yard in the 'burbs [he's not allowed]. I'd love to get him to her or anyone else that might appreciate him.
He has nice bloodlines [including Ami Crego, AH Robbins, etc,] and is a total darling sweetheart. I really need to find a home for him.![]()
We're in PA but would ship if I had to.
Thanks! [First pix he's about to crow so he's standing taller than his normal stance]

Congratulations!!! Your chicks are so cute. I espeically love the one with the Hello Kitty bandaidThe last chick to hatch is another Buff! Day 22 and drying off in the bator now. I had three eggs unpipped and did an eggtopsie. Two were quitters at day fourteen. A White and a Black. They were so dark I couldnt see in through the shell when I candled. The one egg that had a full term chick but died in the shell without pipping internally is a heart breaker. It had absorbed all the yolk and was a gorgeous Lavender. It had a HUGE vaulted skull. Final count...Twelve live beautiful Catdance chicks out of thirteen viable embryos at lock down! That is my best Silkie hatch from an incubator EVER!![]()
Number ten and number eleven chick. A lovely Buff and stunning Lavender.Such an adorable touch. Can't wait to see another pic of the lavendars when they get older.![]()
Quote: Yellow downed chicks are gold; white or silver downed ones are silver. Or they have the gene for snowy white down.
sooooo... my friend's white chick who was born yellow is gold what? Does that mean gold leakage gene? or do gold and silver stand for something else?Yellow downed chicks are gold; white or silver downed ones are silver. Or they have the gene for snowy white down.
A thread is a new topic, like this is the silkie thread. A question page I think is a thread asking a question. What URL are you talking about? A URL in general would be something like this: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/297632/silkie-thread/32300#post_10713152Help
What is a thread
How do you set up a question page
And what is a URL thing and how to work it
Thank you![]()
