Silkie thread!

does anyone know if i should trim there crests or leave it how it is because they cant see a thing.

I would trim or pluck so that they can see. But if you are planning on showing them in the next couple of months, trimming and plucking would be a bad idea. I love how they look but i would definitely make sure they can at least see good enough to find the food and water ;)

Hi everyone - I have a show at the end of this month - some of my show birds do not look so hot after wintering inside the cottage - we had a very long winter (Maine) and I am just now getting them out and so forth. Here are some pics and I need advice from those on here who actually show - bear in mind they all need bathed. Showing is for fun but I also want to represent appropriately. Bathing will happen this week and the chosen ones will be put in the show cages. This is my first time showing roosters and I concerned about the feathers in the Splash's tail and the feathers sticking out in my whites head. Please let me know your thoughts on these 3 Roos: Splash, Blue and White

I can decide which rooster to pick for my 4h show I can only chose one.
I'd take this guy.

Those are some nice crests! Yes, trim a little if you don't plan on showing. Don't trim, if you're going to a show sometime soon.

I think someone already answered this question...?

Without seeing their feet, I think the splash or the white would be the nicest one. The splash's wattles and face look very red, though. Bright red face, comb or wattles is a disqualification. Same for the blue rooster. I can't see the face, around his eyes, in this picture, but his wattles look fairly bright in color...but that could also be due to the high contrast in the picture. And I'm going to assume that he doesn't spend his entire day standing upright like that? lol Looks like he wants to crow.
The white bird, can't see his comb or wattles at all to tell color. He looks pretty nice. Other than that, I don't think your guys look bad at all.

I'm still learning all this stuff myself, had my first show couple of weeks ago. It was lots of fun! Good luck!
