Heres my white silkie hen that went broody yesterday and is my first broody ever,Im sooo exited

Yay! I am experiencing my first broody ever too and it's my white silkie "Cloud". She is sitting on 7 duck eggs for me! they will be a Pekin/Rouen mix. I already have enough new chicks so I am letting her hatch ducklings for my sister. We are about a week into it...

ha ha! I love it! I was like 1/2 inch? Clearly that bird is taking 'roids...either that, or my silkies are broken. I don't know if that can be used this early on as a tool for gender identification. I use posture and comb more often myself...and I'm about 60-40 which isn't great, but what ya gonna do about it??

I can decide which rooster to pick for my 4h show I can only chose one.

personally.I am a huge sucker for silkie roos shaped like number 3. I love love love him. I think 2 may be more type, but number 3 has everything I like in a roo...but I'm not judging your 4-H competition so you may wanna go with the crowd on this one..

This is Spike. Last year i had a batch of eggs hatch and he was supposed to be a show chicken but he was unfortunately born with an extra toe on his right foot so know hes my pet that runs around the farm and enjoys life.
