Silkie thread!

My Buff Orp is my friendliest. She is huge but jumps on my lap to cuddle like a baby chick lol.
I have one of those in with the 7 in my brooder, she is second to come greet me every time. The only two from the mixed group that seem to want to be near me at all times are my Astralorp and the Buff Orp. They even like (or tolerate) me petting them. The only reason my little EE (who appears to be hopped up all the time) and the silver & gold laced wyandottes come near is for an odd meal worm treat that I offer one at a time. My two white silkies never come near and in fact act like I am some big monster. How do I get them on board with the whole pet friendly lap chicken thing?

I have four and none of them crow like my other roos, but they are very talkative and two of them puff up and bump each other when they are out playing in the yard. I get consistently three eggs a day, sometimes four which seemed like a lot for two silkies. I don't have any pictures, but i can get some. Are there certain areas that I need to take pictures of?
Get pictures of the face, with comb and wattles if possible. And a side profile of their bodies would be helpful.
If they're old enough to lay eggs, just a face shot would probably do it.

OMG! You guys have such beautiful birds!!

I have three little ones, five weeks old now. One was claimed to be a silkie by the store, but some on another thread are saying she might not be a 100% silkie (I did not know breeds mixed!).

Any ideas on my Margaret? I am hoping she's a she . . . the jury is still out on that. Her comb looks to me like the beginnings of a pea comb or a single comb . . . I don't really know what the early stage of a walnut comb looks like. She's petite . . . less than half the size of the EE and BO.

I appreciate any and all input!! Thanks!!

Mine were all terrified of me (one still is lol) so I pulled them out one at a time and set them on a towel where they could watch me do housework. Occasionally I would talk to them and come over with food in my hand. Now when I pull them out they talk to me and peep for me when I leave. Except the one...still working on her. But time and patience will pay off. Maybe soon they will even hop on my lap. :) My Cochin chicks do so I know it's possible.

Here she(?) is. This is her 'good' side lol. Her bad wing is on the other side. I don't know about really outstanding, but her type now at just 3 1/2 months makes me anxious to see her in another 7 months, totally filled out

Holding her wings low in this one because of the SC heat

This is the hen I'm almost sure is her mother. She has a really high tail too. Beautifully tight wings though.
Mom is really awesome! Always nice to see tight wings on the youngsters but they commonly tighten with age.
They wore themselves out. Aren't they cute?

Real cuties!! Great photos too. :D

They are cute! I can't wait for mine to start growing their crests. They got little tail feathers coming in. The self-blue chick looks like it has a tail like a rabbit, round and fluffy.

I'll have to take some pictures.

Yes please, more pictures!!!! It does seem like it takes forever for those crests to come in, doesn't it?

I put a ton of pictures of the babies in the Grey Silkie thread. I think I am going to have quite a few Gray and Silver Partridge. It isn't a very active thread though so I don't know how long it my take for any comments or critiques.

RockerHen your babies are so beautiful!!! Somebody on one of the threads posted a video exercising her little pullets' wings. It may have been PaintedFeather, I may be wrong though.
