Silkie thread!

Today was just the worst day possible on my little farm!!! Watched helpless as a fox literally raced in and snatched my two best silkie girls, Meg and Sally. It all happened too quick and I am devastated. I was so cranky and can't believe how **** brazen the huge red ******* was to grab two at once. I have cried like a baby all afternoon and still can't believe it happened.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your two girls.

Just got these two a couple hours ago

Finally got my showgirl! Showgirl is a pullet i'm pretty sure, and I also got a regular white silkie from a showgirlXshowgirl breeding which the woman said is supposed to be near unheard of! So i'm hoping it might throw showgirls. Not sure on the gender, it's kind of unisex looking ATM lol.

I have also been witness to a predator attack on my precious silkies, a hawk bombed a beautiful splash hen I got as one of my first birds. She died in my arms. I hope the rest of your flock stays safe.

Awwww, almost to the firecracker stage!  Tails and heads go POOF!  Very cute!

Thank you, they are so darn cute, little fluff balls running all over the place. They have learned that I'm the food lady and peep for me and all come running to me. So cute. I wish I new which ones were cockerels.

Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts!! Still can't believe it happened. Went down to pen this morning and just stood there staring at my poor rooster Jet who is wandering around all sullen. If I'd only been two minutes earlier locking them back in????? I never let them out if I'm not home and was leaving for work so that's what I was doing when the fox struck....locking them in. The dogs are usually always out but it was raining and they were sooking inside.
So now they will stay in their pen always. The Wyandotttes are looking at me like "why aren't we out??" Sorry kids, not happening!

But as always, Mother Nature worked her magic and one o my other girls hatched a baby this morning an another is on the way!! God love em.
