Silkie thread!

I was wondering if any body could help me clear my mind up on this cockerel. He came from a splash/Blue pen. He looks Blue, but on his back the coloring throws me off???

Hi,
I am getting my chicken coop built. I read (somewhere) that the roost for silkies has to be lower. Can anyone tell me if this is true and how high or low please.

It's called what's so special about silkies. Page ten post 93. A user posted a YouTube video on "how's it made" the tv show and claims she used wing sexing and it's worked for her on her silkies. I am going to see what happens. Hopefully mine is a girl like I think compared to the wings!

Heres my new silkie chicks. I had 11 out of 12 hatch, so Im pretty happy with that hatch rate. These will be all white silkies and should probably be bearded according to the seller. I think the hatch rate is great for eggs shipped from Tennessee to Louisiana. I look forward to seeing their antics in my backyard from my rocking chair.
