Silkie thread!

That's cool that you saved those fawns. That will always be a "fawned" memory for those girls.

Ducking and bowing out of the room....

OMG OMG I'm sure glad it is morning when I saw this picture. If it was closer to bedtime I'm afraid I would have snake nightmares !!!! Seriously !!

I don't think I could ever live in the Southern states with all of the reptiles you guys get down there. I have a hard enough time with the snakes we have here and the toads hopping around now and then !!! That's why I got guineas this year and am breeding all I can get !!!!

Guineas are great if I had some land I'd definitely have a small flock of them. My maltese cricket had a run in with a flock of about 4 guineas a few months back. I went to go drop off some supplies to the guy that built one of my coops and my breeding cages for me. Cricket dove out of my truck and went after the guineas. Poor little girl didn't realize that the guineas were herding her and had her surrounded until it was too late. LOL I had to go save her!

OK maybe I don't miss Kentucky as much as I thought lol

Don't you have rattlers there in TX. I know we do here in NW TN. Along with the water moccosins and cotton mouth. Then there are the non venomus snakes like chicken snakes etc.

I don't like snakes of any kind. All are dangerous to me. They can make me have a heart attack.

The only good snake is a dead snake. My cat takes care of the mouse population and she don't steal eggs or bother the chickens or chicks. I'd rather have her than a snake anyday.

My yard has a four foot rock wall topped with a steel solid panel fence that makes it 7 ft tall on the inside and 9+ feet tall on the outside. The gates are solid steel with gaps too small for anything but a roach to fit thru. When the section of the fence was down I was worried about predators getting in but now it's back together I'm not as concerned. I know there are snakes around here along with hawks, raccoons (maybe) and foxes but I haven't seen any of them in the last year in my yard or even in my neighborhood. I'm pretty sure a determined critter could get over my fence but not under. My bet I'll see a stray cat in my yard before anything else but since I have three dogs I'm hoping I'm still good

My cat used to get in with my blacks and cuddle. I couple times I'd go out in the morning and do a head count and be confused when I counted one extra until I realized it was the furry black cat snuggling with the fuzzy black silkies

Aww what a pretty girl! I have no idea on boy versus girl with your little one but she sure is cute! I have had poopy butt issues in the past as well. Usually when it happens something else it going on with the bird in my experience like mites or dehydration/diet issues. Not always though I think it also depends on the bird. Anyone else want to chime in on the poopy butt issue? Am I nuts to say it happens in correlation to something else?

Look at this cutie pie! 10 weeks old, one of the blacks I hatched from "CitySlicker" eggs. I have 4 of them and they all have nice overall feathering at this point.
