Silkie thread!

@silkiecuddles I went and did more searches after my post and it came up that all of those possibilities were showing that same patterning in chicks with slight variations.

Hello fellow silkie owners

I could really use some tips and pics. I absolutely can't tell gender on my silkies. I've been able to identify all my others by 2 months old. But my silkies have me stumped. I have 2 that are 3 months, 4 that are 2 months, and 1 3 week old. Do they feather slower than other chickens? My oldest 2 still haven't feathered fully on their necks and heads, my bantams the same age are fully feathered, the oldest 2 are the same size with fluffy tails, I don't see any wattles on any, nobody's comb has gotten darker, one doesn't have a normal silkie comb, it has a small regular comb the same size as my bantam pullets. 2 of my 2 month olds comb is a little larger, the group of 4 seem about the same size, they're all bearded too
could someone please post pics of face body and tails for pullets and cockerels at 2 and 3 months. I'm really hoping that I don't have all cockerels, thatd be real disappointing. I'll be keeping them all regardless but I did want to raise chicks from them, and have some hens to help incubate eggs, I read silkies are wonderful foster moms

We were thinking of hatching eggs with an incubator, and I just adore silkies, and I only have one, so I would want to hatch them.

1. Are silkies harder to hatch then other chicks? Should a beginner like me start with something more basic?

2. Are there any tips for hatching silkies or eggs in general?

Thank you!
