For our 4-H shows, junior 4-H birds must be born between Jan 1st and May 1st of the current year. Senior 4-H birds must be between Jan 1st and May 1st of the previous year. You should contact your 4-H extension office to find out the rules for your area.

I was watching my 8 week old chicks today and wondered if any can be sexed by what they take out of your hand, like I was twirling a feather and one grabbed it and ran. Another time one grabbed it and dropped it. I've only seen hens run off with a tasty morsel. And roos take things and drop them. Thoughts?
