Silkie thread!

I don't care for those brinsea brand they are way over priced some are good on price but I don't need to spend 100+ dollars on an incubator name brand when I can get a cheaper one that does the same spring and I am completely satisfied with the off brand one I bought I am glad I went with the off Brand instead of the over priced name brand one.

I actually had 2 off brand ones first. Both small. One was automatic and the other manual. The manual one worked ok but the other was awful. Both took so much work to keep the temps steady and the humidity accurate. I didn't even finish hatching in them cause I was afraid the one might fry my eggs. We live in a really hot climate though. I have to say the cheapie work but I'll never go back since buying the brinsea. It just works so well. Temps stay even and so does the humidity. Turns itself or if manual turning you still don't have to open the lid. I know it's not for everyone but I just live it lol. :)

what color is this 5 week old chick and what quality I'm wandering

She looks like a porcelain or an off color white. It's too early to tell what quality she is just yet. The main thing you can look at to tell quality right now is look at the number of toes and the skin and comb color. The skin should be very dark and her nails and beak should also be dark too. Her comb should be a dark mulberry. She should also have 5 toes per foot. Later on, you'll be able to determine her quality better based on how typey she is and her crest size. For more information on the SOP for silkies I suggest going on the ASBC website.

Could you get a side pic so I can see the body color I would say it's breeder quality you might not be able to tell if it's show until it's older and more feather fluffed. To meet the breed standards.
I keep trying to load more pictures but it just won't even tho they were taken just like the other picture.I hatched a bunch of eggs from Mongolia silkies she has really pretty show birds this one is supposed to be splash. She seems light colored for that though.

O ok I know her um I think it's Shanna right? I was going to get from her but she was busy at the time but then I just got from my cousins friend and now my gram had some relation who breeds them he should have some hatching soon. And I might just get some eggs off of him. But anyways i got a closer look I was in a hurry the first time and didn't notice the color because of the lighting but it sorta looks white if it's supposed to be splash could it be maybe paint as they are lastly white with a few black or grey spots on them

I have this incubator it has an automatic turner keeps steady temps, and holds humidity and I have hatched 3 times with it I keep it clean and I have good hatch rates with it works perfect for what I do. Here are some pics i forget what it's called.

EDIT : I seen then it's the Janoel 12 incubator but if you don't use the turner you can fit about 2 dozen in it. O I almost forgot to mention it has fan so it's circulated air incubator.
