Silkie thread!

Omg! They are smazing! Is it the light or did one look violet?
Amazing!

Thank you!

I think it's just the light..it's a light splash. Getting a lot of pin feathers on top of it's head, a lot of dark coming in here and there. Fun stuff. Will be fun to see them grown. :)

Help...We got 2 silkie chicks and I am amazed at how tiny they are. The black one in the pic started having trouble walking so I separated them from my regular chicks cause they are about 1/3 the size but the same age. Why are they so small???

Any advice on what to do for this little guy? He's eating, drinking & pooping but what do I do for his leg?

What is his leg doing? Where did you get him..hatch him yourself? Is the leg separated ..wide apart? If so, you can use something to tape the legs close together. Some folks just use a bandaid. I'll find a thread on it. I have photos too of what I do.

Man there's some beautiful birds/babies on this thread. It's been a while..had to catch up. I was in awe at some of the beauties. I took some photos of my babies .. and their funny little hairdo's for now. Loving the light splash! And the blacks. Wish it were easy to sex these little stinkers earlier. I had 14 hatch..sold 7, I better have some girls in here!! A lot of dark blues, and a couple of lights, that could be splash.
:love Looks like 1 splash, other light one may be dark splash or light blue... medium blue, 2 dark blues, a black and either a really dark blue or a black... betting you've got girls in there, lol... :)

Hard to see what his leg is doing as he doesn't move much. We got him from a small local breeder and he was fine for almost a week but was with chicks bigger than him. I'm wondering if he got stepped on. Poor little guy :( going to watch the video now

I just saw him get both legs under him and he limped to the food, pecked twice then fell over and went to sleep, so the leg is working, just maybe injured.

Can someone please tell me what to do blue was in chicken jail for being a bad rooster!! At some point he did this to his self!! I brought jail in the house so I can keep a closer eye on him but idk what else I should do!!

Was he scraping his head on it? I had two roosters get in a fight and do that to each other. I cleaned them off carefully then put ointment (bacitracin) on them for the first day. Head feathers take a while to grow back but chickens heal fast.

Combs scab over pretty quick and look nasty from even the smallest scratches. Some of my dominate large fowl EE girls will pull the single combed brown layers out of the favorite nest box by their comb. It bleeds a little and looks bad, but it heals up very quickly.
