Silkie thread!

My two cockerels crowing, and just some footage of the silkies walking around the yard.
I wish my rooster wouldn't crow until we got a house

he was just doing it because ice got him excited, in my apartment! So back to the coop he went. I just hope he stays not so loud. If he's locked in the coop I can't hear him in the house.

what colour would you call this
Silver partridge is shown under the grey standard
Here are a few more of the Craigslist group I posted yesterday

First is the grey from Bobbi Porto (I think I have it right)

The only boy

beardless black girl..

Bearded black girl..

You really got some lovely birds. What a great blessing!
I'm happy to debut the 4 chicks from Mr. Puff (splash rooster) and Mysty Blue (dark blue hen).
<Here are the mom and dad
I was expecting a hatch of 50% splash, 50% blue from these parents, but think there is 1 splash and 3 lighter blues (which I love).

<Just moved into the incubator.

<They are getting curious about the food.

A couple of the babies seem to have a tint of brown on them even though parents are from bbs and bb pens?

Is this just egg yolk or fuzz that will change to light blue?
Am I seeing white stripes on that back? Give them to days and you will know if they are partridge. :)
Just got these little girls on New Years Day. Just wanted to show them off. They are 12 weeks old.

Beautiful babies!!

You must be very excited about these babies. Post us pictures of the little one with the partridge markings, once they feather in!

I can't wait until spring to breed my splash cockerel. I have a blue hen and a black pullet for him and plan on finding another blue hen to add to the group.

Okay, what do you guys think about my black pullet? She's 5 months old.
I'm so glad those wings are starting to tuck in finally.

These first four pictures I took before her bath. She had poop all over her back because miss genius sleeps under the little ladder in the coop where some of our flock roost....and of course gets pooped on at night.

What is the likelihood of her getting more feathering when she is only 5 months old at the moment? There were a lot of pins coming out so I'm thinking there's some hope?

Clean feet after the bath.

Little snack after their bath. I had a couple of boiled eggs left in the fridge that needed to go...

I didn't get any wing pictures. The girls were being impossible! It's difficult to get wing shots by yourself at times. lol
I'll take more pictures of both of the girls tomorrow when they are clean and fully fluffed.

So that's the consensus, cockerel? Is the color a give away too? The vibrancy of the reddish?
No I think he's just a red, but his tail has darker colors and his comb is too big to be a pullet. Found a picture of someone else's red cockerel on here... see?
