Silkie thread!

This is great news!!!! And if you get it quick you might not even need to board your roo! Yay!!!
Yeah that would be nice! We still need to wait for out loan commitment but we can see the houses and put a deposit if we find the perfect one. It's going to be great!

Tips Please! My new white silkie always has a dirty butt and cleaning (then blow-drying) is a real pain! What to do? What to do? Can I trim the hair down there? How about a chicken Brazillian? Tips and tricks for dealing with dirty Silkie butt, please!

Trim, wipe & vaseline or neosporin to help keep the vent clear. I had pasty butts, too.

uggh collecting these hatching eggs is harder than I thought! Nori likes to lay at the most inconvenient times and then hides the eggs, so sometimes like this morning I don't know if it was layed yesterday or early this morning

Temps last night weren't too cold, but it was still low 30's. The egg was cold when I found it but it wasn't as cold as the others I have collected so I am hoping it was just an early egg.

His two babies from the refrigerated pullet eggs are getting big too. They were very unhappy that I disturbed their nap AND pulled them out of their nice warm brooder for a pic
