Silkie thread!

I'm wondering if my roosters aren't fertile yet??  so far I've incubated 3 eggs and none thus far have been fertile.  The roosters are about 9 months old.  Are they old enough to be fertile? I've never seen them get on the females.

Also since silkies are FLUFFY you might want to try and trim the feathers back away from their vent, the feathers could be stopping the roo's from doing their duty.

ya know what? I did take a picture months back to see if they were fertile. I forgot about that! I believe I still have the picture here. I think this is the one. does it look fertile to you?

5 week old splash. Any idea male or female? We can't have roo's in our city limits, so I am hoping female so I can go pick her up from the breeder this week!

If your Silkies topknots obstruct their vision, how do you take care of that? I know some people will pluck around the eyes, and I don't really want to do that, anyone make "headbands" for them? And if you do, what do you make it out of? I have a few girls that probably haven't seen the light in months...LOL

I think Yoshee is going to be a first time Daddy- I didn't even think that he figured out how to mate, but 6 eggs that I put in the incubator have veins!. Now, what do I do with the eggs that come while those are in the incubator- I don't want to throw them out, knowing they might be fertile. No friends with incubators. Dang it. I need more incubators, I guess

if you arent going to show you can trm the crest and muffs. otherwise you can try hair tape.
