Silkie thread!

Day 5 on the hatch and I have a few that when I candled looked to like yolk just floating around?? should I not turn them for a day or two? may they were not attached. I had them shipped and waited about a day to start turning manually. 3 so far you can see definite veining and an eye. the rest of the dozen is iffy. two dark blobs. one you can't really see anything. and then the rest the "yolk" is floating around....

RIP "Chad" She was a hen, but was named "Chad" when she was a chick and bigger than the others. My fault. They all got out of the 'day pen', and the hens went under the chicken house. I wasn't able to get them at all (3 hens). Apparently, some predator was able to get her :(

2 out of 4 eggs are growing yeah!

Now, Could there be a genetic problem if my chicks are growing and then don't hatch out? My friend has some in the incubator and 3 were scheduled to hatch and only 1 did. My other friend had 1 chick growing, it took 30+ hours to hatch and then died 12 hours later. I am wondering if this is a genetic problem. It very well could be since the only 2 that will breed together came from the same breeder. I have 3 separate lines here and the only ones that are breeding are the 2 together from the same breeder. I've since moved that roo, but so far the other roo is unsuccessful. plus they've gone broody on him!
