Suzierd, SO CUTE!
Actually looks like it might be a Porcelain, just with very dark hackles and saddle feathers. He's gorgeous though! Looks like a tri-colored paint!
Ok, I had a fabulous Catdance hatch rate last spring, and alas, it is time to find homes for some of the boys! I think I have 11, and will keep a few...but I need help on the colors....is this considered a paint? Sorry to not be up on all my colors, but I know you guys are and can help!!! I have 2 of these boys - keeping one.... I am hoping to sell him locally, which is S. California, and have no idea on price? Thanks!
What we said - and what I still say - is they all only carry one bearded gene instead of two copies. The next generation will be where it really shows. It means that when you cross them back to the non-bearded rooster you will get some with no beard and some with a smaller beard .. its just how the genetics work. They may also not be as fully bearded when they grow up. I have one I am growing out now that is a cross like that (bearded (1 gene) x non-bearded - and she is also hard feathered) - I will let you know how she does. She looked pretty fluffy faced as a chick, but now I am noticing that she doesn't have a really thick beard. She is only about 2 months old right now.
Wow! I did hatch an egg or two that were marked porcelain but thought the ecru colored hen I have was one of those! I have so much to learn! Thank you so much!Actually looks like it might be a Porcelain, just with very dark hackles and saddle feathers. He's gorgeous though! Looks like a tri-colored paint!
