98% sure it is a boy, and most likely a Bantam since it's comb is so large yet it is small. Glad it looks like it was just attacked and got away rather than dumped. Silkies should have 5 toes on each foot, are you saying it has 6 on each? weird =P I have one special needs, messed up girl who has 6 on one foot. Let me post you some pics of a girl and a boy so you can compare them =)
PS: can you get another picture today? We would love to see the little guy!

Honestly our little one looks nothing like either of yours! lol - I wouldn;t know what to look for.
S/he has 6 toes on each foot and no spers. Still no crowing but lots of clucking? No eggs either so I guess wait and see.
You are right when you say the comb is well developed - more than I would expect from a LF chick which would be about 10-12 weeks in comparison to the size of this one ( Bering in mind I only have Amber star and Maran chicks right now. ) If it is a fully developed Banty - I would have thought it would crow by now? - So maybe there is only one other option - OH PLEASE LAY AN EGG!!!!!
I was out with it just now and I have managed to pick S/he up for the first time and hold s/he tight to my chest. I finally had a real good look. Most of the feathers are gone from the right wing but it does not seem to be broken. Opening up ok but it is sore for her and the tail is all bit gone though s/he has a few feathers left - the top of the back is swollen from the plucking! I think it will go donw in a day or two. More worrying is that s/he has drank three and a half tubs of water since yesterday ( about a mug full per tub? - S/he must have been very dehidrated) Also there is no fat on her at all she is just bone, and is very hungry all the time. I am thinking to biuld her/him up on some scrambled eggs and yogurt! It is going to get spoiled. I love it lots already - I am such a sucker!
Oes - yes 6 toes will try to get pics asap but will have to leave her for a bit as I don't want her distressed again.
