We have that motto too. Just had to re home a rooster who went a little crazy and attacked everything. And I mean everything. Human, chicken, goose, duck, trash can, tree, squirrels etc. you name it he'd attack it. His name was Bo Jangles aka crazy eyes.

There are severel on the market but you want to cover more than just roundworm, for that reason I would give wazine a miss. Rooster booster or if you want to cover tape and gape worm valbazen or safegard .

Strike III is a Type B Medicated Feed. Use as an aid in the control of infections of the following intestinal parasites: Large roundworms (Ascaris galli), cecal worms (Heterakis gallinae), and capillary worms (Capillaria obsignata).

I want to get something into my birds a.s.a.p. and TSC has this one in stock locally.
By the way, I found the same sediment in the water trough yesterday, so one or more birds are affected.

I just did some reading and the Strike III has the same active ingredient as the Rooster Booster, Hygromycin B, so I'm guessing this will work and I guess I answered my own question.

Man all your chick news and photos has given me chick fever!!!! I can't wait til next year when we might buy/incubate some more. For now I have to be content with my two. Altho I'm a bit worried about my white girl, she seems to be getting smaller and smaller and hardly eats any of the feed (altho she will eat grass because they free range all day)

This is a chicken I used to have. I was told she was a silkie, but her feathers are smooth. Is that something that happens occasionally in silkies?

Occasionally smooth feathered silkies do pop up. I've had 1 in 10 years.

I have two partridge hens, a blue hen and a black with silver leakage roo. I'm not sure which hen laid the eggs but they were the same egg. I'm guessing from the blue hen but these just hatched two days ago. So cute.

Do you think they are blue? They look blue to me.

Yes they look blue to me. It's too early to know whether or not leakage will occur, but they are gorgeous. Most blues have one white toenail.

One level scoop per one pound of feed, and there is no egg witholding period. Not sure on how long you need to use it for.

Ok, I have another question. TSC also had the Wazine you had mentioned.
Which one would be more effective and work faster?
I know the Strike III gets mixed with food and the Wazine is diluted in water, so I wondered if it might be more effective.
You say I don't have to withhold eggs with the Strike III, but should I use the Wazine instead and if so, should I withhold if I do?

By the way, yesterday evening I went to put the boys up in the coop and noticed one of the siblings from the one that died was still wandering around in the run.
It was past her bedtime and everyone else was in the coop, so I checked to see what was the matter.
I quickly realized that she was looking for her sister and so I held a flashlight up to help her see.
She went from one end of the run to the other sort of frantically and she was looking high and low until she realized she wasn't there and she gave up, looked sort of dejected and slowly went up the ramp into the coop.
It just broke my heart and I think I gained a better understanding and a new found respect for chickens.
I didn't realize they were capable of missing one of their own, but I'm still new to this and learning.

Not chickens but I had a duck die of depression once because its mate died. (My ducks mate for life) It was pretty sad.
