Silkie thread!

Well I am needing help, i have what i think is a roo for sure he has blue gobbler like things on his side of his face he roosters and he looks like a roo. but there is a catch he is laying EGGS!!!
I have him with 1 female as seen in the pic but in a larger bin now until coop is built and i started seeing him making nest and laying on it but i did not think of anything until i seen a egg in the nest but i thought my hen layed it but i was wrong since i got them i have had 5 eggs and all had yolk in them when i cracked them and they where inferrtil so no chicks but this morning i went out there and i seen him in the nesting box putting hay on him and making a round nest shape and i lifted him nothing under him the female was on the oppisite side of the bin i thought he was making it for her but not less then 5 mins i went back out there and i moved him and he had an egg under him it was warm so it was just layed and his rump was puckering and very large, and the female was on the same spot she was when i last seen her the female roosters like a male but is not laying and not attacking my other rooster silkies but my male is roostering attacking my other males and laying eggs idk if its a messed up gene where i got him from or what, does anyone has this issue or know of anyone who does i am confused pic bellow of female and male, female is black/partidge and male is light brown unknown color if anyone can tell me whats going on it would be great thanks = 3

Roosters don't lay eggs, however hens have been known to crow.

Hello everyone! I'm new to chickens and I bought six silkies from TSC. They were all unsexed. They'll be 12 weeks old tomorrow and I've noticed some peculiar things about them. One is a definite rooster as his comb is huge and his waddles are also huge. However his comb is a single comb and I have two others silkies that are bigger then him by quite a bit yet seem to have a pea comb. And one of them loves me and will jump up into my lap and loves to be pet so I don't think that one is a rooster. Also one of the two I was just taking about has no feathers on her legs/feet? And sorry for all of this but one last thing, they all seem to be growing Spurs. Is that normal? Also please comment on everything else! Thank you!

I am hoping to by a camara and put it in there to see who is laying it in there my dad says the roo is a female but he has signs of a rooster but i am thinking the hen is laying he egg real quick then the roo pushes her away i just don't know anymore because he wont let her lay on the eggs or anything . i had everything planed for my silkie breeding and raising but idk what chicken is laying.lol

It's not uncommon for Roos to frequent the nest boxes. I have one that sits along side the hens while they are laying and some will even go in and scratch the bedding around while cooing to the hen as if to say, it's all ready for you now. :D
Btw, both look like hens to me. ;)

All chickens get nubs on their shanks, only the Roos will develop though. The single comb does pop up occasionally it just means that he is ' pet quality '.
Some pics would help in sexing. Head and comb shots . :)

He does call her or like a cheep sound then when the egg is layed its a very loud roostering sound he makes and he hops on the edge of the ben clucking but i am pretty for sure she is laying them the only reason my dad thinks the roo is laying becaue it might sound weird but the males/female area where they lay the eggs or bung area the females is tight like nothing came out and his is very wide open is that normal in males or ......

Well If It Turns Out To Be A Female I'm Sorry But My Baby Is A Very Ugly Girl XD But Tom, I Will Be Taking A Pic Of My Big Roo I Got Yesterday That Is A Real Roo And Put Then Next To Each Other And Get Some Better Pics Of All Three. So I Will Be Updating On Pics = 3

This is a frizzled silkie/cochin mix, around 10 weeks old. Parents - white silkie female, bantam blue frizzled cochin male.

What is going on with these feathers? (the gold coloring, not the frizzle part)

this was taken about a month ago.
