Silkie thread!

We Do Have Some Antibiotics From The Tractor Supply Ones Called Terra-Vet And The Other Ones Called Backyard Chickens Health Pack Idk if any of that would work?

I would highly recommend getting Tylan-50. You need something stronger to work. I bought some birds who came down with a NASTY URI.....everyone was isolated and given the Tylan-50 for 7 days. They all look amazing now although I do plan in keeping them seperated for several months for observation. Alot of people do the injections with Tylan but I opted for orally medicating mune and it seemed to work. I used 1/2cc for my Bantams....I just searched this site and found a TON of helpful information.
Hope your girl grts better soon.

We used oxytetracycline. It's a broad spectrum antibiotic. I chose that just because it covered more just incase it was something else. The instructions only give the dose for 2 gallons but I found it online for 1 gallon. :)

My silkie hen was sitting on an egg for 26 days and I finally took the egg. she continued to sit for 3 more days. she is now going outside but lays by herself. I noticed this morning she has yellowish green runny poop. Is this something to worry about? it's her first time going broody. I added probiotics and electrlytes in the outdoor waterer and vitamins in the indoor one.

I have a young Silkie (thought it was only 3 months old) that is acting much older. It has been crowing regularly for 1-2 weeks and has gotten very good at it. However, it also has been heard cackling like a hen that is laying an egg. It has cackled in the past but was heard just in the last few days cackling again. Today it has crowed AND cackled!!!!!

I'm wondering if there are any suggestions on whether or not I have a hen or a roo. Is the crowing or cackling an indication either way? I'm posting pictures so that may help. Thank you all for your opinions!!
