Silkie thread!

Hey everyone, just wanted to share my first hatch ever. These eggs are from my Silkie hens, we have two showgirl Roosters. Here are some photos of the one that has hatched this morning... the rest are in progress / some pipped.

The rsl may be too aggressive of a breed for the silkie. Silkies tend to get picked on.

They're very sweet & one is super shy they do good with the dogs do you think they will be to aggressive if so I can get two Silkies & keep them separately

Probably best to keep them separate. My red birds were aggressive with other birds.

It is possible to integrate them. All you can do is try. I have 5 RSL girls and ice never seen them pick on any of the other flock members, including silkies and babies.

Oh ok thanks that makes me feel better now I'll try to see how they act first if I see they're aggressive then I'll put them separately but I'll try to see if they're ok with each other

I would get two silkies so just in case you aren't keeping the single silkie alone? I think it always best to get chickens in multiples unless they're going to a single chicken house pet.

Silkie question! I would love some silkies but I lost a silkie cross with a vaulted skull and don't ever want to have that happen again. So if anyone knows of breeders that don't breed for vaulted skulls it I would love to know of them?
